Studio Policy

Effective September 1, 2025 - August 31, 2026

Fees

Lesson fees cover the time spent with the student, time spent on administrative tasks (website management, invoicing, rescheduling lessons, etc.) and other costs (studio management software, recital costs, teaching materials, etc.)

Lessons are invoiced in a different manner during the school year compared to the summer months.

School Year (September through June)

Tuition is distributed evenly across this 10-month period, with a flat monthly rate, regardless of how many lessons the student takes in any month.

There are no lessons during the Christmas/New Years Break (two weeks) and only make-up lessons taught during the March Break (1 week). When a lesson falls on a holiday (other than the breaks listed above), the student may reschedule to another day during that week if possible, or will be given a make-up lesson at another time.

Summer Schedule (July & August)

Students may choose to take any number of lessons during the summer months and will be invoiced for each month based on the number of lessons taken.

Payment

Payment for lessons is due monthly, on the first lesson of the month, via cash, cheque or e-transfer. Invoices will be emailed on the last day of each month for the next month's lessons.

Attendance & Make-up Lessons

Please arrive on time and ensure that in-person students are picked up promptly (no extra time will be given). Make-up credits for missed lessons will not be issued if the student is absent with no prior notice given. Please respect the fact that I have reserved a weekly time for your lesson and I cannot make up or refund a forgotten lesson.

School Year (September through June)

A make-up lesson may be booked for any lessons missed during the school year and must be done so by August 31st, 2026 or the lesson is forfeited. Refunds for missed lessons will not be given. Alternatively, you may contact me to reschedule your lesson by switching with another student within the same week, if possible.

Summer Schedule (July & August)

Lessons missed during the summer months do not need to be rescheduled and any pre-payment will be carried forward to the next month.

Virtual Lessons

Virtual lessons are held on Google Meet. Students who attend in-person lessons have the option of scheduling a virtual lesson if they are not physically able to attend for any reason. For all virtual lessons, please be sure your device is charged or plugged in before the lesson.

Termination of Lessons

Students may choose to withdraw from lessons at any time. No refunds will be issued should they choose to cease lessons before the end of the month.

Disregard for these policies and disruptive or disrespectful behaviour during the lesson time (or another student’s lesson time) will be dealt with immediately and may result in termination of lessons.
